Electrical & Computer Engineering

Hi, I'm Ben
I Build Things
That Move & Think.

ECE student at the University of Washington focused on embedded systems, FPGA design, and robotics. I love turning ideas into working hardware.

Portfolio

Featured Projects

A selection of hardware, firmware, and software projects — from physical robots to FPGA designs.

Robotics

Autonomous Line-Following Robot

Built a robot using an ARM Cortex-M microcontroller with PID control, IR sensors, and motor drivers. Capable of navigating complex tracks autonomously.

FPGA Design

Custom RISC Processor on FPGA

Designed and implemented a simple RISC processor in Verilog, synthesized on a Cyclone V FPGA. Includes ALU, register file, and memory controller.

Embedded Systems

Wireless Sensor Network

Developed a mesh network of ESP32 nodes collecting environmental data with a central dashboard for real-time monitoring.

Software

Signal Processing Toolkit

Python library for real-time DSP including FFT analysis, filtering, and waveform generation. Used in coursework and personal audio projects.

About Me

Meet Ben

I'm an Electrical and Computer Engineering student at the University of Washington. My work is mostly focused on embedded systems, including FPGA design — I love the challenge of making hardware do exactly what I want.

Outside the lab, I'm the vice president of UW's HEMA club where I help teach longsword, and I spend as much time as I can on the slopes skiing. I believe the best engineering comes from curiosity and a willingness to break things (and fix them).

Why Work With Me

What collaborators and teammates say about working with me on engineering projects.

"Ben brings a rare combination of hardware intuition and software skill. His FPGA work on our sensor project was meticulous — he caught timing issues nobody else would have found."

Faculty Advisor

UW ECE Department

"Ben's embedded systems work is production-quality even as a student. His code is clean, well-documented, and he always considers edge cases. He's the kind of engineer who makes the whole team better."
